Workshop Presenters

Teresa Crea works across media as a writer, director and creative producer. She has an extensive background in theatre, radio, film and most recently, in live arts/new media. She has received several awards for her contribution to the Australian Arts and is recognized for her work in cultural diversity.
She has commissioned and directed projects in live art and installation/digital media, and recently created a series of sound and performance installations in Adelaide, Perth and Singapore. As a creator and director, Crea finds herself working with an increasingly broad spectrum of artists, across a variety of platforms. Working with large inter-disciplinary, cross media teams has required her to act as a translator, mediator, negotiator and curator. Teresa is a recipient of Australia Council for the Arts Fellowship in New Media, granted for her to further research hybrid, cross platform, and cross - cultural practice. She is currently working with Carnegie Mellon Entertainment Technology Centre as a creative facilitator in visual story at its Australian Campus.

Sebastian Tomczak is a music technologist, performer and composer based in Adelaide. He is a tutor and lecturer at the Electronic Music Unit, Adelaide University, and is currently undergoing his Masters of Music Technology. Sebastian has presented a number of papers at various national conferences and will be presenting at the International Computer Music Conference 2008. He has a keen interest in hardware and software development in regards to physical computing for use in musical performance and unique control methods. Individuals across the globe have built and learnt from his musical inventions including his water-surface music instrument, The Toriton.

Jason Sweeney is a sound artist, musician and performer who has created over a decade of solo and collaborative work both nationally and internationally. He has developed and presented work at such places as Banff Centre (Canada), Performance Space (NSW), SPILL Festival (UK), NADINE (Brussels, Belgium), Australian Centre for Moving Image (VIC), Time_Place_Space1 (Wagga Wagga) and CIA Studios (WA). In 2002 he co-founded the collective, Unreasonable Adults, who have toured world-wide. He composed the sound-score for Chunky Move’s I Want to Dance Better at Parties for Melbourne International Arts Festival. He has been releasing experimental and electronic music internationally with Pretty Boy Crossover since 1998.

Cindi Drennan is an Australian multimedia artist working in a variety of contexts from public art, to site specific installations, events, theatre, and live electronic media performance. She works within communities to create site-specific installations transforming public spaces with illusionary and illuminated arts. Her work combines techniques of film-making, illustration and lighting, with architecture, sculpture, and performance. Most recent projects include " the Light Pirates" a series of video projections in the public spaces of Port Augusta SA, and "Wish" a mythical story using an old sandstone church in Wollombi NSW as the backdrop and storybook. Alison Currie
Alison’s current work 42a received independent triennial project funding from Arts SA 2008-2010, and will premier at the Experimental Art Foundation, June 08. She interned with The Builders Association media and performance company, NY in 2005. Solon Ulbrich has been a mentor to Alison’s work since 2002. A Helpmann Academy mentorship 2004 between Alison and Amanda Phillips has lead to her continued work as a performer and rehearsal director in Australia and China. In 2004, 2005 Alison performed with Restless Dance Company on Sustenance directed by Kat Worth and Daisy Brown, and Vocabulary collaboration with ADT directed by Garry Stewart.
